Ecopsychology is concerned with the repressed ecological unconscious and its manifestations, with alienation from nature, and the neuroses rooted in that separation. My practice is founded upon the work of Sigmund Freud, Wilhelm Reich, Carl Jung, and my central concept of the ecological uncanny.
The Ecological Uncanny substack delivers ecopsychological commentary on culture and being within the world. It offers us an opportunity to see the familiar differently.
To that end, the work is also informed by Romantic and Existentialist philosophy. Through analysis and application of radical and counterfactual approaches to ecopsychology, my work aims at restoring marginalized psychology and theory to the discipline. To that end, please consider this site a resource for anyone interested in the profound relationship of psyche and place.
